Sevilla President flies into London to secure sale of Spanish international.
A host of Premier League clubs from the capital are set to battle it out for Spanish international Alvaro Negredo, according to The Metro.
Rumours regarding a move for the player have swirled since it emerged that the club’s President, Jose Maria del Mido, had arrived in the capital seeking to offload the forward.
The news comes just 24 hours after Negredo himself revealed his desire for a switch to the Premier League.
Tottenham and Chelsea have been repeatedly linked with Negredo in recent years and it is thought both clubs have made enquiries about his availability during the current transfer window.
They are set to be joined by the likes of Arsenal and QPR, who are both in need for attacking reinforcements in order to revive their flagging seasons.
Arsenal have struggled to identify a replacement for Robin Van Persie after summer signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud failed to impress.
QPR meanwhile are the league’s lowest scorers this season, managing just 17 goals in 21 matches, and Loftus Road boss Harry Redknapp is a known admirer of the player.
Sevilla’s hand has been forced by their precarious financial position leading them to actively seek the sale of their key assets.
