- 14 Jordan Henderson – 8
Ran all afternoon long, and harried Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere in midfield for the entire 90 minutes. He really is a crucial cog in Brendan Rodgers’ side.
- 08 Steven Gerrard (Ibe – 76′ ) – 9
No one in the country puts in a better set-piece delivery than Gerrard. His two excellent balls for Skrtel’s first two goals set the tone for the afternoon, and he excelled in his deep-lying anchorman role. Gave away a penalty in the second half, but he can be forgiven for that with his side 5-0 up.
- 10 Coutinho – 10
We don’t often hand out tens, but the Brazilian’s performance was out of this world. The way he dictated Liverpool’s attacks with his phenomenal passing was breathtaking, and his assist for Daniel Sturridge’s goal was a thing of pure beauty. On this form, he genuinely has the potential to be one of the world’s best footballers.
