The Reds drub the table toppers at Anfield…
Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal: Player ratings
- 22 Simon Mignolet – 6
Never looked like saving Arsenal’s penalty, but to be fair, didn’t really have an awful lot to do against a woeful Arsenal side.
- 38 Jon Flanagan – 9
The right-back was absolutely outstanding. He regularly got up the right flank and supported Liverpool’s wonderful attackers, and passed the ball surprisingly well.
- 37 Martin Skrtel – 9
Scored Liverpool’s crucial opening two goals with headers from Steven Gerrard’s set-piece deliveries. Was also a colossus at the back, and dealt with Olivier Giroud expertly.
- 04 Kolo Touré – 7
Didn’t put a foot wrong against his former club, and could have scored with a header in the second half… Recovered well from his gaffe last weekend against West Brom.
- 20 Aly Cissokho – 7
Probably his best performance in a Liverpool shirt… For arguably the first time, he looked like he had the technical ability of a top level Premier League player, and was unlucky not to score with his last kick of the game.
