It’s a huge clash in the Premier League as title hopefuls Liverpool host Champions League contenders Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Both sides have everything to play for as the season quickly draws to a close and have been given renewed hope in their respective quests after Saturday’s results.
The Reds could go top of the table for the first time this term as current leaders Chelsea slipped up against Crystal Palace and lost 1-0.
Meanwhile, with Arsenal and Manchester City playing out a 1-1 draw Spurs could still make the top four spots with victory on Merseyside.
That is easier said than done for Tim Sherwood’s men however, as their opponents are in the best form in the entire division and have won their last seven league ties.
Brendan Rodgers’ side also beat Spurs 0-5 the last time these two teams met, with Tottenham being humiliated at White Hart Lane by their visitors’ swashbuckling style.
The hosts are the highest scorers in the entire division, thanks largely to the superb performance of ‘SAS’ attacking duo Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge – who currently have 48 league goals between them.
Keeping the pair quiet will be the away team’s biggest concern, as Rodgers is set to name an unchanged starting XI for the third successive match, after two victories over Cardiff City and Sunderland in the last seven days.
For Spurs, Sherwood is hoping to welcome back club captain Michael Dawson and Emmanuel Adebayor from injury, but Etienne Capoue, Erik Lamela and Kyle Walker are still out.
