Reds set to break Lane hoodoo with draw.
Liverpool could lay down a title marker by winning at Tottenham on Sunday, although they will need to improve their away record in order to come away from White Hart Lane with all three points.
The second-placed Reds have taken 21 points from a possible 24 on home soil but have won just two of their seven games on the road. This is the main reason why they are still not considered serious contenders for the Premier League crown (they are 8/1 with BetVictor).
If they can lift their game away from Anfield, Liverpool will go close in what is arguably the most competitive season yet.
The same could be said of Tottenham and their home form, although they are a long shot at 66/1 to end their 52-year wait for a top-flight title.
Spurs have picked up 16 of their 27 points on their travels and have scored only seven goals in as many league games at home. While they are only three points behind Liverpool in the table, they are much further behind in terms of their title prospects.
The number one difference between the two sides is Luis Suarez, who is 19/5 to open the scoring. He has scored 14 league goals to Tottenham’s 15 and has done so in five fewer games. Spurs will need to be at their best to stop the Uruguayan.
Andre Villas-Boas’s side go into the game buoyed by back-to-back victories at Fulham and Sunderland and will undoubtedly up their game for the visit of the Reds. They can take confidence from their recent home record against the side from Merseyside, with six wins in their last six meetings.
It is a big match for two teams with serious top-four aspirations! Who do you think will win?
