Liverpool player ratings
- 22 Simon Mignolet – 7
The Belgian bounced back from consecutive poor performances against Chelsea and Manchester City, where he made two high profile mistakes. Although his distribution was shaky at times, he kept an important clean sheet, making one very good save in the second half from a long range shot.
- 02 Glen Johnson (Kolo Touré – 55′ ) – 5
The England right-back was solid in defence, but didn’t get forward as much as he normally likes to. His manager was notably annoyed at him for picking the wrong pass on two separate occasions, before he was hauled off before the hour mark after picking up a knock.
- 20 Aly Cissokho – 6
Looked nervy in possession early on, but gradually improved as the match went on. The Frenchman offered a constant option up the left flank, and wasn’t afraid to get beyond the attacking midfielders in front of him.
- 37 Martin Skrtel – 6
Skrtel was very good in the air, and managed to deal with the threat of Yannick Sagbo up top. He let his defensive partner Daniel Agger pass the ball from the back, but his positioning was good.
- 05 Daniel Agger – 9
The Dane has been out of the side recently, but reformed his partnership with Martin Skrtel very well. Agger started alongside Skrtel instead of the injured Mamadou Sakho, and was Liverpool’s best player. He bagged the vital opening goal, and was highly impressive with the ball at his feet all afternoon.
