Anfield club interested in Schalke’s Jefferson Farfan.
Liverpool have reportedly made a concrete approach to Bundesliga side Schalke for winger Jefferson Farfan.
As reported by fanatix last week, the Merseyside club are interested in bringing the Peruvian international to Anfield.
Sources close to fanatix have again confirmed that Liverpool are keen to negotiate a deal for the pacy winger.
It comes amid reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress regarding a deal for Tom Ince.
Negotiations have stalled with Blackpool and Rodgers is making contingency plans should the deal fall through.
Blackpool are demanding £6 million pounds for the player, but with Liverpool being owed 35% of any transfer fee as part of the deal that took Ince from Liverpool to Blackpool, the Anfield club are only willing to part with £4 million.
The Tangerines are demanding £6 million outright and the two clubs are seemingly deadlocked with neither side willing to budge.
That could pave the way for an Anfield move for Farfan who has impressed this season for Schalke, scoring five goals in sixteen games from a wide right position.
Rodgers sees Farfan as capable of easing the burden on young Raheem Sterling, who has been almost ever present since breaking into the Liverpool first team, whilst also providing some competition to Enrique and Downing on the left wing.
