Anfield club make breakthrough in talks for Blackpool starlet.
Liverpool are closing in on a deal to bring Blackpool starlet Thomas Ince to Anfield according to The Daily Mail.
They have been rumoured to be tracking the England Under 21’s star for some time and have apparently made a breakthrough in negotiations that should see the player sign within the next day few days.
A number of clubs were rumoured to have been interested in the player, including Swansea who reportedly made an approach but were put off by Blackpool’s asking price.
That has left the path clear for the Reds, and it now appears Ince will return to the club he left in the summer of 2011.
The 20 year old midfielder has been in great form for the Tangerines this season, scoring an impressive thirteen goals in 23 games.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping the youngster can add some width to his squad as they seek to press for European qualification.
Rodgers’ options have been limited this season with the poor form of Stuart Downing leading to Jose Enrique, the former Newcastle full-back, being deployed in a more advanced position.
The Spaniard has adapted well, putting in some strong performances but it is hoped Ince can provide some much needed competition to him and fellow youngster Raheem Sterling.
