PSG show no signs of slowing down this summer…
Promising young French defender Lucas Digne is having a medical at PSG, ahead of a £12m move from Lille, according to talkSPORT.
The highly rated young French fullback has been coveted by teams across Europe, including Liverpool and Chelsea, but Qatar-backed PSG seem to have won the race for his signature.
He would join Edinson Cavani in Paris, who became the club’s record signing yesterday, joining for £55m from Napoli.
Digne is very much a modern fullback, and is more comfortable going forward than he is at the back. He can cross well, is technically sound, and is happy with the ball at this feet. The 19-year-old Frenchman will look to play a shorter ball into midfield rather than a longer ball up the line.
Despite his age, Digne was a fixture in the Lille side last term, and he made four appearances in the Champions League.
His defensive frailties may not be tested too much for PSG next season as they are expected to run away with the league title following their latest mega-signing. He will challenge experienced defender Maxwell for a starting position, who like Digne, is also more comfortable attacking than he is defending.
