England international will reject LA Galaxy for lucrative move to Serie A.
Chelsea midfield player Frank Lampard could be about to make a sensational switch to Italian giants AC Milan, according to reports in the Sunday People.
The veteran England international had been hoping to agree a new deal with the West Londoners to see out the rest of his career at Stamford Bridge, however, the Blues have been unwilling as yet to offer the 34-year-old more than a one-year extension to his current deal.
And, with Lampard wanting at least a two-year deal, he has been looking at other options in the January transfer window, with the player now allowed to start talking to other potential suitors and even sign a pre-contract agreement if he so wishes.
The Rossoneri have reportedly already met with Lampard’s representatives and believe that a move to San Siro would appeal to the midfield player for a number of reasons, including the fact that it would both prolong his international career, as well as allowing him to spend more time with his two daughters who live in London.
“We are keen to sign Lampard and are hopeful a deal can be done,” said a senior Milan source.
