England batsman takes to Twitter to voice his outage over silicone scandal.
England middle-order batsman Kevin Pietersen has rubbished allegations he used silicone tape on the edges of his bat in a bit to fool the HotSpot technology.
The infrared cameras used a part of the Decision Review System in the current Ashes series, have come under fire for being ineffective in picking up edges.
Reports from Australia indicate the ICC are looking into claims the tape was used during the drawn Test at Old Trafford this week, citing Pietersen’s dismissal in the second innings as of particular interest.
Horrible journalism yet again! My name brought up in hotspot crisis suggesting I use silicon to prevent nicks showing! Such hurtful lies..

I am never afraid of getting out! If I nick it, I'll walk.. To suggest I cheat by covering my bat with silicon infuriates me..

How stupid would I be to try & hide a nick when it could save me on an LBW appeal, like in 1st innings where hotspot showed I nicked it..

Pietersen was caught behind off the bowling of Peter Siddle, with the English batsman looking bemused before electing to review the decision.
While no evidence was forthcoming via HotSpot that Pietersen edged the ball, the third umpire deemed there was enough sound evidence to uphold the onfield decision.
