Blues boss apparently distances himself from mega transfer.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be accused of distancing himself from rumours of a move for Lionel Messi this summer by claiming that the Argentine superstar will finish his career with Barcelona, according to the Metro.
Messi’s future at the club was the subject of some serious speculation earlier in the season, as rumours of a rift between himself and Luis Enrique had appeared to spiral beyond repair.
Chelsea had been linked with an astounding £200m move for his signature, though the 27-year-old sought to put the speculation on ice, and it now looks as though Mourinho has done the same.
“I have the feeling that Messi will always be at Barcelona,” he said.
“I may be wrong and nobody knows what will happen in the future. My feeling is that a player of his dimension and significance for a club like Barca, I do not see Barcelona opening the door for Messi to go.
“I do not see Messi playing with another shirt which is not Barcelona’s. I may be wrong, but this is my feeling.”
