Brazilian side Internacional have paved the way for Tottenham to complete a move for striker Leandro Damiao according to ESPN.

The sporting director of the club, Luis Cesar Souto de Moura, has reportedly said a deal was still possible if the Premier League side were to move fast.

Spurs are rumoured to be keen to sign an attacker with the London club only currently having only two recognised forwards. One of those is Emannuel Adebayor, who is currently away on African Cup of Nations duty with Togo, whilst the other is England international Jermain Defoe, who has been nursing a thigh injury in recent weeks leaving the club without any fit recognised forwards.
While the likes of Clint Dempsey have been able to fill in, Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas is keen to bring in reinforcements as Tottenham look to secure a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League and qualify for the Champion League.
The Portuguese gaffer has preferred a 4-4-2 formation in recent games meaning the club are reliant on the continued fitness of both Adebayor and Defoe.
