Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has thanked Gunners supporters for sticking by him during his long absence through injury.
The Germany international forward suffered a hamstring tear at the end of August, and only made his return in the north London outfit’s clash with fellow capital side West Ham United.
Despite not having played first team football in nearly four months, Podolski was instrumental in Arsenal’s comeback from a goal down to win 3-1, assisting Theo Walcott’s second goal and sealing victory with a powerful strike from the edge of the area.
Afterwards, Podolski expressed his gratitude to Gunners fans for helping him through his time on the sidelines, posting the below image to social network Instagram with the following caption:
Thanx to everyone for supporting me during the time of my injury. I love you gunners….. #comeback #happy #boxingday #derby #victory #afc #arsenal #gunners #lukaspodolski #podolski #aha #adidas #f50 #youarefootball #picofttheday #instafollow #emotion #love
