The Swede would love to see the Red Devils star in Paris.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become the latest player from the club to state that they should sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.
Defender Thiago Silva spoke of the Brazilian’s admiration of Rooney when PSG were linked with the forward over the summer and now Ibrahimovic also wants to see the England international at the Parc des Princes.
“When there was talk of Rooney joining us in Paris it was a prospect that excited me,” the 31-year-old was quoted by Sky Sports.
“I think he made it clear in the summer that he wanted a fresh challenge – and things have not been going so well for Manchester United this season.
“If he still wants to move next summer, or in January, I would urge him to come and play with me in Paris. The only direction this club is going is up.”
The Sweden international is known for having a huge ego and went on to warn Rooney, in the third person, that the forward would still be No.1 at PSG.
“If he did join he would have to get used to the fact that Zlatan scores even better goals than him,” added Ibrahimovic.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan ace has not been fazed this term despite the fact that Edinson Cavani was bought in from Napoli for a club record £55m fee.
Another attacker at PSG would pose the problem of how all three would fit into the team, but Ibrahimovic is clearly welcoming of the competition.
