Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson has ruled Matthew Suckling out of his side’s clash with Geelong on Friday.
Hawthorn have ruled defender Matthew Suckling out of its qualifying final against Geelong on Friday due to a knee injury.
It has been reported Suckling trained by himself on Thursday morning at Waverley Park, but Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson said the 26-year-old will miss his second consecutive game.
“He won’t play this week unfortunately, he hasn’t come up,” Clarkson said before training.
“He’s tracking pretty well, it was just not the progress we would have liked for him to be able to play Friday night.
“He will hopefully get himself right for the next game that we play, whether that’s next week or the week after.”
Suckling was injured during the Hawks’ win over the Cats in round 22, and had previously played in every match for the defending premiers this season before last week’s clash with Collingwood.
