Cottagers want long-term successor for Schwarzer.
Fulham are considering make a late £4 million bid for in-demand Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The West Londoners are on the look-out for a successor to veteran Australia international Mark Schwarzer, whose illustrious career at Craven Cottage will soon be drawing to a close, and manager Martin Jol has identified the Blues shot stopper as his number one target in the January transfer window.
However, the Cottagers plan to loan the 19-year-old back to the Championship club until the end of the season.
Jol and Co do face stiff competition though for the England Under-21 international’s signature from the likes of Premier League rivals Stoke City, Chelsea and Liverpool, but it is understood that the player is desperate to play regular first-team football, a factor that led him to turn down the chance to join the European champions earlier this week, and may also count against the likes of Stoke and Liverpool, who both have established first choices in between their sticks.
If Fulham are unsuccessful with their move for Butland, however, they will instead turn their attentions to Roma’s Netherlands international keeper Maarten Stekelenberg.
