Lille’s Salomon Kalou eyeing move back to England after six years at Stamford Bridge.
Former Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou says he could return to the Premier League next summer.
Kalou, 28, spent six seasons at Stamford Bridge, helping the club to the Premier League title and Champions League crown before joining Lille in summer 2012.
The Ivorian enjoyed a fine debut season in Ligue 1, bagging 14 league goals in 28 appearances and was linked with a return to England in the summer, with West Ham and Arsenal reportedly keen.
The forward remained at Lille but has admitted he could return to England next summer.
“At 28, the best years of my career are ahead of me,” Kalou told Le Parisien.
“I needed one more year to reach a higher level in my game and Lille offers me the opportunity to grow again and move on.
“Last year, after a difficult start, I learned a lot. I reached a plateau.
“Who knows [what I will do at the end of the season]? I may come back to England. Already this summer, several clubs have contacted me. For the moment, I am pleased to be at Lille.”
