Week 3 of NFL preseason games has come to an end, and there were many noteworthy moments, including a 34-6 win by the Seattle Seahawks over the Chicago Bears.
The third week of NFL preseason action has concluded, and there is only one week remaining before the regular season begins.
As usual, there were plenty of noteworthy moments that fans will remember.
Here are five takeaways from last weekend’s games.
5. Scott Tolzien is the clear No. 2 in Green Bay
The Packers have held a competition for the No. 2 quarterback job between Scott Tolzien and Matt Flynn. Although Flynn saved the Packers’ 2013 season, his preseason performance has been underwhelming while Tolzien has shown significant improvement. Tolzien completed 8-of-11 of his passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ victory against the Oakland Raiders while Flynn struggled to move the chains and threw an interception. At best, it seems like Flynn will make the roster as a third-string quarterback. However, the Packers may choose to release him.
4. Matt Ryan is set for a bounceback season
The Atlanta Falcons have already lost left tackle Sam Baker for the entire season with a torn patellar tendon, but this didn’t stop Ryan from having a fantastic preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. The quarterback threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns on 18-of-23 passing. If the offensive line can perform remotely decent, Ryan will get back to his 2012 form assuming Roddy White and Julio Jones stay healthy.
