Arsenal are far from favourites to beat Bayern Munich in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie, but here are five reasons the Gunners could triumph.
Arsenal have done it before
It’s easy to forget in all the doom and gloom surrounding Arsenal at present (losing to Stoke City? Title challenge over…) that they are actually in a better position than they were last time going into the same tie.
Last season, the Gunners had lost 3-1 at Emirates Stadium, meaning that a 0-2 victory at the Allianz Arena saw them eliminated on away goals.
This season, that same result would see them progress to extra time – and a similarly good start to both last year’s away game and this term’s home match could have Bayern on the ropes.
