The things that have shocked us the most this season.
At the start of the 2013/14 Premier League season there was much anticipation, with three of the top four sides changing their managers and millions spent on new transfers.
Gareth Bale became the world’s most expensive player after joining Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur for an eye-watering £85.3m, whilst Sir Alex Ferguson ended 26-and-a-half years of success with Manchester United.
It hasn’t disappointed so far, as with just five matches remaining for most teams the race for the English title, Champions League places and avoiding relegation has perhaps never been closer.
Yet there has also a number of developments and the rise and fall of many sides that not many would have predicted – remember Luis Suarez was public enemy No.1 after biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic at the end of the previous term.
