Five players that the Reds could turn to if their deal for Southampton star Adam Lallana were to fall through.
One of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer has been Liverpool’s pursuit of England World Cup star Adam Lallana. With the Anfield club still unable to agree a fee with Southampton, however, Brendan Rodgers may soon have to look for alternatives such as these as he looks to strengthen the attacking midfield position.
5) Yevhen Konoplyanka
Liverpool almost brought Ukrainian international Yevhen Konoplyanka to the club in January, even going as far as opening talks with his club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. The deal never materialised, but should Rodgers’ pursuit of Lallana fall through then the Northern Irishman could be persuaded to resurrect the deal. A tall but silky player, Konoplyanka is most at home on the left side of the field but is capable of operating across the attacking line, adding versatility to his range of skills.
