Arsenal have set the bar for their opening Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace next week with a commanding 3-0 victory over a weakened Manchester City side in the Community Shield.
With The Gunners having been in control of the game from the first whistle to the last, there will be few negatives to take away from the game for manager Arsene Wenger, but the performances of these five will certainly have brought a smile to his face:
It has been a whirlwind summer for teenager Calum Chambers, who has gone from the fringes of the first team at Southampton to starting at Wembley for Arsenal.
The Englishman was again at centre back, covering for the absent Per Mertesacker, and looked in control throughout, largely keeping Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko quiet. A slight lack of pace was exposed once or twice with balls in behind, but Chambers looks every inch a player who could become a fine central defence.
