Blues are still paying Roberto Di Matteo.
Chelsea are still paying former boss Roberto Di Matteo a staggering £130,000-a-week, according to the Daily Mail.
The Italian was sacked last season by the Blues and replaced by Rafael Benitez on a temporary basis, before the much-heralded return of Jose Mourinho this summer.
But Di Matteo and the club were reportedly unable to reach a severance agreement for the termination of his contract, meaning Di Matteo is effectively still employed by the Blues.
The former West Brom boss has therefore banked £7m since his sacking but is unable to accept a job elsewhere, despite being linked with several managerial vacancies.
Di Matteo’s deal still has another two years to run, meaning the ex-Chelsea player could pick up another £14m from the club without doing a day’s work – although he would be unable to accept another position in that time.
