Man City may be on the verge of selling Mario Balotelli to AC Milan, but the club are preparing a move for a more senior striker to replace him, and that looks more likely to occur in the summer.
Guidetti, who is 20 years of age, still awaits his first team chance at Manchester City – and a good step to reaching that would be a half season on loan at Everton.
The Sweden international spent last season at Feyenoord, and adapted to the Eredivisie brilliantly, scoring 20 goals in his 23 league starts.
The Premier League is a different matter though, but a temporary move to Goodison Park would make sense.
The Toffees could certainly use more firepower.
Nikica Jelavic has not been nearly as prolific this season as he was in the last campaign, and he and fellow forward options Kevin Mirallas, Steven Naismith, Apostolos Vellios and Victor Anichebe have a mere fourteen goals between them.
The highest goalscorer of those is Croatia international Jelavic with six, but a club with UEFA Champions League ambitions is expected to have a more prolific goalscorer, and the signing of Guidetti could be a decent – risk free – gamble.
