Home side on top as game approaches the half-way mark.
England have wrested back control of their Test match against New Zealand at Lords and enter tea on the third day with a handy 116-run lead.
Starting the session front by 37 the home side has extended its advantage even further but at the expense of two wickets.
Trent Boult again captured the prize scalp of England captain Alastair Cook, who slashed at a wide and full delivery which could have been left alone.
However, he earned a thick edge for his curiosity which flew to third slip and to Dean Brownlie who dived to his left to take it in both hands.
Cook’s departure for 21 saw the score become 36-1 with the Kiwis striking another blow soon after.
In the very next over Neil Wagner got rid of Nick Crompton for 15 after he was bowled by an excellent delivery as the score quickly became 36-2.
England could have crumbled as they did in their first innings, but spurred on by a much more positive attitude at the crease, they increased their lead.
The run-rate ticked along at a healthy rate of just over three to give them momentum heading into the last session on day three as Jonathan Trott and Joe Root steadied the ship.
