Sunderland vs Arsenal tickets are on sale from £23 for this Saturday’s match at the Stadium of Light.
The Gunners had been hopeful of bringing the youngster to the Emirates, either during the January transfer window that has now since closed, or this summer, especially after AZ head coach Gertjan Verbeek had suggested at the end of last year that Maher would be an ideal player to join Arsene Wenger’s Premier League outfit.
However, Maher has since spoken about this future plans, saying: “In the summer I expect there will be a realistic bid. It is certain that I will be leaving.”
And when quizzed as to whether this means he will be joining Arsenal, the player responded: “I have already said that I do not want to go. I want a good stay in the Netherlands, at least another two to three years – I am only 19.
“PSV is a nice club, but on the other hand I live in Amsterdam. Last summer and last winter I indicated I want to go to PSV, but PSV was the only club that wanted to sign me. But I can also play for Ajax [too].”
