Greater Western Sydney ruckman Jonathan Giles has been traded to Essendon as the Bombers prepare for life without Paddy Ryder.
The Bombers will receive pick no.62 with Giles and will send pick no.53 to the Giants.
Giles was initially on Port Adelaide’s list for four years before joining the Giants where he played 51 matches in three seasons.
Bombers list Manager Adrian Dodoro said Giles added important ruck depth to the club’s list.
“The club is very excited that Jonathan has joined us for the next two seasons to add further depth to our ruck stocks,” Dodoro said.
“Jonathan has shown that he is able to compete with the best ruckman in the competition and we see him forming an important partnership with Tom Bellchambers in he ruck.”
201cm Giles was recruited by Port Adelaide from Central Districts in the 2005 national draft.
