Blues raid Spain again.
Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Brazil defender Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge and he will wear the number five shirt.
Luis started 32 games in Atletico’s triumphant La Liga campaign last season.
He also made 10 starts in the Champions League, as Atletico progressed all the way to the final, beating Chelsea in the semi-finals.
Luis made 131 tackles, 49 interceptions and 55 clearances in La Liga last term.
The attack-minded left-back attempted 111 crosses and completed 1,048 passes.
He told Chelsea’s official club website: “This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League.
“I’m very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons.”
