Milan agree fee with City for maverick striker.
AC Milan have agreed a fee with Manchester City for striker Mario Balotelli and the player will sign a deal until 2017 at the San Siro, reports the Press Association.
Manchester City vs Liverpool tickets are still available for the match at Eastlands on 3 February!
The Rossoneri will pay around £20m for the Italy international, who spent four years with their arch-rivals Internazionale before moving to Manchester. Some of the fee will reportedly be made up by bonuses.
Balotelli has been a controversial figure since joining City in the summer of 2010. Although the 22-year-old has 20 goals in 51 Premier League appearances for the Eastlands outfit, he has been plagued by accusations of laziness and eccentricity.
This season, in particular, the Italy international has struggled to win a place in the Champions first-team amid competition from Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko and the writing was on the wall for the maverick forward after a well-publicised training ground bust-up with City boss Roberto Mancini earlier this month.
Mancini had vowed that the striker, who excelled for beaten finalists Italy at Euro 2012 this summer, would never play for the club again after he was sent off in a defeat at Arsenal in May last season.
But the former Inter boss, who signed Balotelli for both the Nerazzurri and City, gave his favourite prodigy another chance – one which he appears not to have taken.
Despite his previous association with Inter, Balotelli has always stressed that he grew up supporting Milan and he will now form an unpredictable but exciting partnership with compatriot Stephan El Shaaraway at the San Siro.
