Zaha meets Fergie for talks over a move.
Crystal Palace have given permission for Wilfried Zaha to begin talks with Manchester United according to The Mirror.
The England youngster has been attracting the interest of a number of Premier League sides, but it appears Manchester United have taken the lead in recent days and are set to secure a deal.
Palace have been tough in their negotiating stance, reportedly persuading Manchester United to part with £15 million in exchange for Zaha’s services.
That fee is alleged to be made up of a £10 million payment up front, with the rest being dependent on the player’s performance for his new club.
Zaha met with Sir Alex Ferguson to discuss terms in a London hotel on Sunday night. The one potential problem is said to be how soon Zaha makes the move north to Manchester.
The young winger and his club want him to return to Palace immediately in order to help with their promotion push but it is understood that Man United are keen for him to join the squad straight away. Palace’s negotiating position over this particular issue has been weakened as a result of them persuading United to pay such a large fee for the player.
Nevertheless, it is thought that Zaha will return to Palace in order to secure regular first team football in preparation for a run in the United first team next season.
