Superstar focussed on himself and the team, not Mou.
Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he is not interested in discussing Jose Mourinho’s future after the Real Madrid boss hinted he could leave the club this summer.
Mourinho has been linked with a return to Chelsea and fuelled speculation after Real’s Champions League semi-final exit on Tuesday night.
But Ronaldo says he is not concerned about the speculation surrounding his compatriot and stressed he feels “fine” at the Bernabeu.
“I don’t want to talk about [Mourinho’s future], I’m only worried about the team and myself, not [the speculation surrounding] the coach,” Ronaldo is quoted as saying by The Sport Review.
“[I’m also not] concerned about my renewal, I have two more years on my contract. I want to win wherever I am. I feel very good here with the fans. I’m fine.”
Speaking after Real’s 4-3 aggregate loss to Borussia Dortmund, Mourinho told reporters: “I know in England I am loved by the fans, the media they treat me in a fair way. I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one.”
After claiming the La Liga title last season, Mourinho has been unable to keep the pace with Barcelona this term and the Champions League was the club’s last chance of securing some major silverware.
With Chelsea interim boss Rafa Benitez expected to leave west London at the end of the season, Mourinho is widely expected to return to the club which he he guided to the two Premier League titles and an FA Cup between 2004 and 2007.
