England attacker may have played his final game for the top-flight champions.
Unsettled Manchester United front man Wayne Rooney has made FC Barcelona his preferred choice of destination if he leaves Old Trafford this summer, according to reports in the Sun.
The England international has been the subject of plenty of rumours of late suggesting that the 27-year-old could be set to depart the north west when the summer transfer window reopens once again on July 1.
This is following recent suggestions that the centre forward had asked for a transfer away from the Premier League champions towards the back-end of the previous campaign, something that Rooney himself strongly denies.
However, it is understood that if the player does opt to quit the 20-time top-flight champions this summer, then it is Camp Nou that is his No 1 choice, with United valuing Rooney at £25 million,
Rooney, who still has two years left to run on his current deal in the north west, netted just 16 goals in his 36 matches in all competitions for United last season.
