Collingwood defender Jack Frost has signed a two-year contract extension with the Magpies, meaning the defender will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2016 season.
Taken at pick 46 in the 2012 rookie draft, Frost has become a pivotal member of the Collingwood backline and was the only player to feature in all 22 of the Magpies’ games in 2014.
Following a PCL injury in 2013, the 22-year-old had a standout 2014 season where he was ranked number one at the club for spoils (141) and ranked seventh overall in the AFL.
Frost said he was excited to stay at the Westpac Centre and thanked the Magpies for the faith shown in him.
“I’m very excited that I will be playing at Collingwood for a further two years and extremely grateful for the opportunity that the club has given me,” he told the club’s website.
“We have a fantastic group of players and a real belief in the direction we are going and I look forward to hopefully playing a key role in that”.
“Jack is part of the next generation of young talent whose progress has provided a window on an exciting future for the club,” Eade said.
“Since joining Collingwood in 2012, Jack has tackled every challenge thrown his way with great enthusiasm, and embraced the responsibility which comes with playing a key role at senior level.
“We’ve been delighted by Jack’s ability to stand up as a young leader and certainly look forward to his continued development in the years to come.”
Collingwood football director Rodney Eade said he looked forward to the youngster’s continued development.
