Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is strong favourite to win the Chinese Grand Prix after a tremendous performance in qualification earned him pole position.
The Englishman’s extraordinary fastest lap was over a second faster than team-mate Nico Rosberg, with Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing splitting the two Mercedes men.
The Shanghai International Circuit offers a different challenge to the previous race in Bahrain, with lower temperatures, two long straight sections and a tricky blend of corners at fast, medium and slow speeds.
As always in Formula One, there is the additional factor of weather, and while victory ought to be in Hamilton’s hands, heavy rain naturally complicates matters.
It promises to be a thrilling battle from grid to finish.
The race will be live on Sky Sports with coverage starting at 7am. If you don’t have a Sky subscription why not grab yourself a NOW TV Sky Sports Day Pass – Pay As You Go access to all 6 Sky Sports channels for the first time ever!
