The midfielder has no regrets about not trying to leave the club last summer.
Kevin De Bruyne has had a somewhat frustrating season at Chelsea so far in 2013/14, but the Belgian says the midfielder has no regrets about staying at the club.
Many thought that with such strong competition in attacking midfield at Stamford Bridge, De Bruyne would try and move away from west London.
After opting to stay the 22-year-old has largely been on the periphery of the team, but the Belgium international is happy to fight for a place and would be open to a January loan move.
“Chelsea is my employer and they decide my future. I don’t have to talk about what could happen in January now, as it’s only November. A lot can still happen,” De Bruyne was quoted by the Metro.
“I feel quite good. The fact that I’m playing at Chelsea is proof I always performed well. The manager told me in July that I had to stay, so I’m not a difficult person. I’ve no regrets.”
De Bruyne started both of the club’s opening Premier League matches this term, but has since made only four appearances in all competitions.
With players such as Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Willian also competing for places, it’s been difficult for the attacking midfielder to get game time.
This has led to a host of clubs becoming interested in the player, with Schalke 04 the latest side to give inclinations they want to take the midfield ace on-loan.
