Mata is expected to make a club record £37m switch to Old Trafford after completing a medical and agreeing personal terms with the Premier League champions.
The 25-year-old is currently earning around £70,000-a-week in west London but that is expected to be more than doubled to £150,000-a-week on a four-and-a-half year contract.
The Spanish playmaker has been at the Bridge since the summer of 2011 after making a £23.5m switch from Valencia and has gone onto win the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League.
