Duo likely to miss visit of Cardiff and trip to Schalke.
Chelsea duo Ashley Cole and Fernando Torres could miss the club’s next two matches against Cardiff City and Bundesliga outfit Schalke, reports the Evening Standard.
The pair have been receiving treatment over the international break but are continuing to struggle.
Cole missed both England’s decisive World Cup qualifiers with a rib injury sustained against Norwich 11 days ago, while Torres strained his knee ligaments in the Champions League win at Steau Bucharest and is yet to return to training.
The Blues face four games in 10 days starting Saturday at home to Cardiff, before travelling to Germany for their third Champions League group match.
Those clashes are following with games against Man City on 27 October and Arsenal in the League Cup two days later.
While Leighton Baines shone in Cole’s absence for England, Chelsea boast just Ryan Bertrand, who has played just one this season, as a back-up left-back, while Torres is the only striker to have scored for the club this season, with Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba struggling for form.
