Ramires admits it’s a compliment for Los Blancos to be interested.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Chelsea midfielder Ramires and the Brazilian has admitted that being linked to the Spanish giants is a compliment.
However, the 26-year-old also says that nothing has come to the player directly and until that does the South American will simply continue to work hard.
“It’s good for the ego [to be linked with Real], it’s a sign that people somewhere like your work.,” Ramires told Globo Esporte.
“I am very happy to know that, but neither Chelsea nor my agent have told me anything. It would be a lack of respect to say anything if the club didn’t talk with me.”
The Brazil international has been impressive for the Blues once again this term and while Frank Lampard and Jon Obi Mikel have been indifferent in central midfield, Ramires has excelled.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Benfica for £18m three years ago the midfielder has developed well and won the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League with the club.
Ramires’ versatility makes the player an attractive prospect for managers, with the midfield ace being able to play defensively, in the centre of the field or on the right-hand side.
Since joining the club in 2010 Ramires has played 163 matches in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 17 assists – most memorably netting against Barcelona in the semi-final of the Champions League with a deft chip over Victor Valdes.
