Eto’o hits back at the manager after comments about his age.
Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has called manager Jose Mourinho a ‘fool’ after the 51-year-old was caught on camera questioning the African’s age.
During a sponsors event Mourinho was secretly filmed talking about Eto’o in what the Portuguese coach thought was a private conversation, joking about how old the 33-year-old actually was.
After French TV station Canal Plus released the footage of this the Cameroon international was said to be very annoyed with the boss.
However, upon scoring against Manchester United the attacker appeared to show he had gotten over the fallout after celebrating by pretending to use a walking stick.
Now Eto’o has cast his future at Stamford Bridge into doubt once again, after slamming Mourinho and refusing to say where he will be playing next season.
“Today, I am 33 years old and it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it,” the Cameroonian was quoted by ESPN.
“I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. Where? I am not going to tell you, but I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great.
“Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League.”
Eto’o famously called Mourinho ‘a s**t’ whilst playing for Barcelona back in 2005, although the pair worked together at Inter Milan in 2010 and whilst winning the treble appeared to have settled their differences.
Yet this new bust-up has ruined that and the former Anzhi Makhachkala man could be the first out of the door this summer.
