The Premier League returns this weekend, and title leaders Chelsea are in action against Mark Hughes’ Stoke City, looking to extend the gap at the top of the table.
Here’s who we think Jose Mourinho will name in his starting XI…
GK – Thibaut Courtois
The Belgium starlet is unlikely to be dropped following his astonishing error in the victory over Hull City, having been key to the Blues’ title charge.
RB – Branislav Ivanovic
With no serious competition at right-back, the Serb is a regular in the Chelsea side – but with his performances, and fitness, so consistent, Mourinho has one of the very best in the position.
RCB – Gary Cahill
Kurt Zouma or Gary Cahill has been one of the Blues boss’ biggest headaches this season, but the England international has been in excellent form since his return to the line up.
LCB – John Terry
Having already led his side to lift the Capital One Cup trophy, and signed a new one-year contract extension in March, the Blues skipper will be desperate to lift the Premier League trophy to cap off a stunning season for the 34-year-old.
LB – Cesar Azpilicueta
The Spaniard continues to leave left-back Filipe Luis on bench-warming duty, as his performances have been exceptional since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2012.
