The Blues draw at home and stay third in the tabel
After Arsenal draw 2-2 with Southampton on Tuesday in the Premier League, Chelsea could not take advantage when they faced West Ham United.
It ended in a 0-0 draw with the Hammers in west London and here’s how the Blues stars rated on a frustrating night at Stamford Bridge.
Petr Cech – 6
Had little to do in the match and although did well to save a James Tomkins’ header, nearly allowed Andy Carroll to score after flapping at a Stewart Downing cross.
Branislav Ivanovic – 7
Excelled again at full-back, passing the ball around with skill and accuracy and even looked solid when asked to switch to the left-hand side.
Gary Cahill – 7
Showed a good understanding with the England international’s defensive partner and the duo did well to snuff Carroll out of the game.
John Terry – 7
The Blues captain is back to his dominant best at the back and along with Cahill ensured the hosts never looked like conceding.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 6
Was barely troubled by the Hammers attack and was brought off in the second half as the home team tried to chase the game.
Ramires – 6
Got more into the match as it became apparent the side might not win, but wasted the Brazilian’s best chance to score and was also booked for dissent.
John Obi Mikel – 6
Was rarely needed as a defensive midfielder due to the visitors’ impotence in the final third and as a result broke forward more and even had a few efforts on goal – to no avail.
