Is Zlatan on his way to Stamford Bridge?

Sulking Ibrahimovic puts Chelsea and City on alert after striker fails to turn up for training at PSG following row over parking

Paris Saint-Germain’s enigmatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was absent from training yesterday.

With PSG set to face table-topping Lyon on Sunday evening, supporters will undoubtedly have been concerned to see their maverick forward missing from the team’s collective training session at Camp des Loges yesterday morning.

And his absence from the group training session may also have been a point of concern for the Club’s President Nasser Al-Khelafi, who was in attendance observing the team’s preparations ahead of Sunday’s crucial game.

A club spokesman told French paper L’Equipe that Ibrahimovic was following an adapted, personal regime and doing his own work in the gym.

According to reports in France, the pony-tailed star was left enraged last month by PSG staff after he was refused permission to park in the club’s car park which is reserved for technical staff.

As a response to the refusal by the on-duty car-park wardens, the Swede instead decided to park his car at the entrance to the technical staff car park, therefore blocking all other vehicles from entering and leaving the complex.

Chelsea are believed to be doing everything possible to secure Atletico Madrid striker Falcao in the January transfer window, but Roman Abramovich may be interested in pursuing Ibrahimovic should his attempts to secure Falcao falter.

Silly season is well and truly upon us! Does anyone really believe that a parking row could see in-form striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave PSG for Chelsea?

While the idea seems laughable, if one player was capable of holding such a grudge then it would be the Swede, who is notorious for his eccentric diva-like attitude.

Chelsea would be more than happy to welcome the world-class striker to beef-up their threadbare attack and Roman Abramovich would probably offer the 31-year-old a parking lot all of his own.

But don’t get excited Chelsea fans: Ibra has frequently stressed that he is happy in Paris and talk of a dramatic January move is farfetched to say the least.

Ibrahimovic has been in fine form since moving to PSG, netting 17 goals this term to help Carlo Ancelotti’s side to the top of Ligue 1.

The Blues are sure to be looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window and have their eyes on a number of targets but any move to bring in the former Barcelona and AC Milan man will surely be doomed to failure.
