Chelsea have offered Frank Lampard a new one-year contract and he could now stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.
According to reports in the British press – including the Daily Telegraph, Lampard’s future at Chelsea may not be coming to a close with the suggestion that the 34-year-old England midfielder being offered a 12-month extension.

Lampard has been at Chelsea for 12 years but was set to be allowed to leave on a free transfer when his current deal expires at the end of the season, despite still playing an integral role in the first-team at Stamford Bridge still scoring 12 times this season.
He was linked with a move to the MLS to replace David Beckham at Los Angeles Galaxy as well as a switch to Italy, Spain or France, but the reports suggest that Chelsea have made a u-turn and offered Lampard new terms.
“He’s scoring goals for us already and I think he’s doing well,” manager Rafael Benitez told Chelsea TV, although he wasn’t drawn on Lampard’s future.
Team-mate Ashley Cole has already signed a one-year extension and will continue his career at Chelsea until at least the end of next season.
