Chelsea could be set to send another player out on loan, with reports from Get West London suggesting that the Blues are looking to find a Premier League destination for highly rated young forward Patrick Bamford next season.
The former Nottingham Forest player impressed in two different loan spells last season, making the step up from Milton Keynes Dons to Derby County, making the Premier League the next logical step up from Bamford’s role in the Rams’ run to last season’s Championship play-off final.
Bamford scored the opening goal in Chelsea’s 5-0 friendly victory over Wycombe Wanderers this week, something that is sure to have impressed watching manager Jose Mourinho.
A number of Championship sides are reported to be interested in offering Bamford another chance of experiencing first team football, but the Blues are keen to find him a Premier League club after success in the second tier last season.
Bamford joined Chelsea from Nottingham Forest in 2012 after the Grantham-born youngster scored an exceptional number of goals for the club’s youth and reserve teams, with Bamford immediately becoming one of the most promising young forwards at Stamford Bridge.
He has scored 26 league goals during his spells at Stadium:MK and Pride Park, a fine achievement for a player who is still just 20 years of age.
