Lavezzi could be convinced to stay with PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is set to snub Chelsea and commit his future to the French champions instead, reports Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Blues are desperate to improve their attack this summer after the current striking trio of Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres have all failed to impress.
Manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that recruitment in the final third is a priority and whilst Lavezzi isn’t an out-and-out No.9, the Portuguese coach is still a big fan of the Argentine.
The South American joined PSG in the summer of 2012 from Napoli and since then has won successive Ligue 1 titles with the club and played 89 matches in all competitions, scoring 22 goals.
The Blues have experienced firsthand what Lavezzi is capable of with the 29-year-old scoring against them in the Champions League with both Napoli and his current side.
The Argentina international generally operates from the left wing, but is equally adept on the right and in a central position and would challenge the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Mohamed Salah, Andre Schurrle and Willian for a starting place.
Yet it seems that PSG have done enough to convince Lavezzi to stay at the Parc des Princes and the west Londoners will now need to look elsewhere for recruitment.
