The Blues are set to break their transfer record with superstar striker signing…
Chelsea are desperate to sign Monaco’s 27-year-old forward Radamel Falcao, and will send scouts to watch him play for Colombia against Belgium on Thursday, reports The Daily Mirror.
The striker joined Monaco for a mega £50m in the summer, and has all but justified his price tag so far, bagging nine Ligue 1 goals already.
Falcao is reportedly unhappy with his decision to move to the Principality club, and wants a quick escape to an elite Champions League outfit.
The potential transfer fee and Falcao’s astronomical wage demands could both prove stumbling blocks for Chelsea, but after seeing his three forwards Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba toil for most of the season, Jose Mourinho is prepared to break Chelsea’s transfer record for Falcao’s signature.
Falcao is undeniably one of the best strikers in world football, and he has been proving it ever since he arrived in European football at Porto in 2009.
He scored 34 in his first, and 38 in his second season, earning him a £37m move to Atletico Madrid to replace Sergio Aguero in 2011. 70 goals in two seasons later, the South American joined Monaco, where he has continued scoring at an extremely impressive rate.
