Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku could yet remain at Stamford Bridge, report the Mirror, who suggest that the Belgian could head out on loan once again, so long as extends his contract at the club.
Lukaku has just two years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are likely to accept that they may have to cash in on the player if he does not agree to new terms on his contract, but his admirers at the club at suggested to extend beyond manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is thought to be uncertain as to Lukaku’s ability, with the Portuguese manager having opted to place another barrier between the player and the Chelsea first team in the form of big-money Spanish centre forward Diego Costa.
The report seems to suggest that the club as a whole are reluctant to cast aside a player who they invested much on when bringing him in from Anderlecht and who has shown serious potential in temporary deals with West Bromwich Albion and Everton.
The Toffees are keen to bring Lukaku back to Goodison Park on another loan deal, but Chelsea are likely to have offers from across Europe for the powerful forward if they do decide that another temporary spell away is the best way forward for the two parties.
