Santos playmaker will not be moving to Europe until after the World Cup.
Big-spending Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City look like having to wait a while longer before they can get their hands on in-demand Brazil playmaker Neymar, says the Sun.
fanatix tickets – Barclays Premier League tickets are still available for next weekend’s games.
Chelsea vs Wigan tickets are on sale from £20 for this Saturday’s match at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil international will be in action at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday evening as the five-time world champions take on Roy Hodgson’s England in a friendly international.
However, it now looks like the 20-year-old will be staying in his homeland playing for Santos until at least the 2014 World Cup finals, which are to be staged in Brazil, with Neymar being the poster boy for the tournament.
“Everyone knows that Neymar will stay in Brazil until the World Cup – but also that in 2014 he will probably leave for Barcelona or Madrid,” said a Brazil insider.
And the reason for the player turning down a lucrative move to Europe is that he is already on a hefty salary at Santos, who pay Neymar an astonishing £11 million per year in wages, although the club themselves actually only contribute 15 per cent of his reported £950,000-a-month salary, with the remainder being covered by a group of 12 sponsors.
