“I seriously wish I was ringside myself for this fight because I’m gunning for revenge,” said Froch.
“Our first fight was pure warfare. We went at each other for every minute of every round and the rematch promises to be even more fiercely contested.
“If Mikkel thinks he saw the best of me in Denmark, then he is in for a rude awakening. I give him the utmost respect that he has the guts to board that plane and come collect a serious whooping at the hands of the Cobra.
“Let’s bring it on!”
Of course, the two men met in the ring in 2010, with Kessler the winner – his hit and hold style proving difficult for Froch at the time.
Kessler also fought Welshman Joe Calzaghe at Cardiff Millennium Stadium in 2007, the loss weighing firmly on his mind, and he revealed it played a part in his decision to accept a rematch with Froch.
“I made my mind up to fight Carl because I never got my rematch with Joe Calzaghe,” said Kessler.
“Calzaghe went to the United States, had two more fights with Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones, and then he quit,” the 33-year-old added.
“I know how Carl felt when he lost to me, and it was his first loss. My first career loss was that fight with Calzaghe. Not getting the rematch hurt me for a while.”
“The first fight with Carl was a close fight, and a very good fight,” Kessler said. “What I like about Carl is that he steps in there to fight with you. Apart from me, he is the best pure fighter in the world.”
“Me and Carl is one of the great matchups in the world right now, not like Andre Ward, or Bernard Hopkins, who don’t really come to fight.
“It will be the end for the loser,” added Froch. “This is the most important fight I’m ever going to be involved in. Kessler will be difficult to stop, but I can hurt him.”
